News from Ethiopia - New Zeowhas | Alemneh Wase Bezehabesha - The instance of Lalibela 6 August 2021. In an uneven area of the heart of Ethiopia, about 645 km from Addis Ababa, eleven medium-age solid holy places were cut out of the rock. Their structure is credited to King Lalibela, which was established to build in the twelfth century "another Jerusalem" after the Muslim victories completed Christian travels to the Holy Land.
Lalibela flourished after the decomposition of the Aksum Empire. There are two primary chapel gatherings - north of Jordan Creek: Biete Medhani Alem (House of the Savior of the World), Biete Mariam (House of Marie), Maskal Biete (House of the Cross), Biete Denagel (Virgin House ), Biete Golgotha Mikael (house of Golgotha Mikael); And south of the waterway, Amanuel Biete (House of Emmanuel).
Biete Qeddus Mercoreus (House of St. Mercoreos), Biete Abba Libanos (Abbot Libanos House), Biete Gabriel Raphael (House of Gabriel Raphael) and Biete Lehem (Sacred Bread House). The 11th Church, Biete Ghiorgis (Saint George House), is confined to others, but associated with a channel arrangement.
The chapels have not been constructed in a conventional way, but have been cut off from the living stone of solid squares. These squares have also been engraved, shaping entrances, windows, segments, different soils, roofs, etc. This monstrous work has also been completed with a wide arrangement of infiltral ditches, canals and majestic entrances, some with openings to caves and tombs.
