It is a broad definition of spaces and works of art with an orthodox Christian character that covers churches and their decorations, as well as illuminated manuscripts and a range of objects (crosses, chalices, patents, icons, etc.) that were used for the Liturgy (public adoration), to learn, or who simply expressed the religious beliefs of its owners. We can infer that since the thirteenth century, the works of art were mostly produced by the members of the Ethiopian clergy.
