As part of the Tinel Erasmus + project, a "call for proposals for higher education institutions" was launched to present the current initiatives of the best practices for inclusive and flexible education in the learning of Elearning and Fuel. The objective was to develop a corpus of the best practices available free of charge in this area and thus help staff in higher education institutions to support the greatest diversity of possible students, regardless of funds, experiences, learning styles and abilities. By the deadline for the presentation of tickets, nine proposals had been received. The four proposals of the nine proposals extended into articles, providing an overview of the current landscape of inclusive learning education of a universal design for the learning perspective (UDL) (therefore, universal design for Elearning, UDEL). These articles reflect the diversity of UDEL cases, since they represent a series of different dimensions: from the diversity of students at strategic and organizational levels.
Towards access to higher education for all
Access to higher education (it) and equal access for underrepresented persons, including people with disabilities, is considered an important moral obligation for universities and institutions of higher education (Heis). More importantly, it is a legal requirement in European countries. The Strategic Framework for European Cooperation in Education and Training is part of the United Nations Education Agenda (UN). Its objective is to "strengthen the capacity of the educational system to reach all students" (UNESCO, 2017, p.7). In addition, the UN focuses on an extensive level of educational accessibility, such as equal opportunities and active participation, with the aim of taking into account all students with their different needs, various skills and disabilities.
