Competitor Kenenisa Bekele was granted the effect grant in 2022. Kenenisa Bekele is an Ethiopian marathon runner. He was the world record holder in both the 5000-meter and 10000-meter from 2004 (5,000m) and 2005 (10,000m) until 2020.

 

He won the gold award in both the 5000 m and 10,000 m occasions at the 2008 Summer Olympics. At the 2004 Olympics, he won the gold award in the 10,000 m and the silver decoration in the 5000 m. He is the best sprinter throughout the entire existence of the IAAF World Crosscountry Titles, with six long (12 km) courses and five short (4 km) course titles. He brought home the 10,000 m championship at the Big showdowns in Games in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009 (matching Haile Gebrselassie's four straight success streak).
