One can buy steadfastness, fellowship, thought, and perhaps compassion, but love itself can't be bought. A peak can be bought, yet love can't. It comes, or not, by excellence, of its own will and in its own preparation, obligated to no human's orchestrating.

 

Love can't be turned on as an honor. It can't be slowed down as a discipline. Simply something else professing to be love can be used as a draw, as a catch, for skillful deception, imitated, suggested, yet the real thing can never be passed on if it doesn't spring uninhibitedly from the heart.

 

This doesn't suggest that love grants ruinous and abusive practices to go unchecked. Love defends value and battles when naughtiness is being done. Love raises the aftereffects of hurting oneself or others. Love licenses space for shock, despairing, or misery to be imparted and conveyed. Nevertheless, love doesn't find ways to hold itself if it doesn't get what it needs.
