The digital portfolio has been recognized as having a lot of benefits to making the process of transparent learning and the empowerment of students to build their own professional growth according to their personal interests. At Hamk, in collaboration with a eportfolio must be integrated into the implementation of skills-based study modules. However, its role is not only to work in assessing targeted skills in study modules, but also work in a broader perspective as a tool for supporting student growth. In this eportfolio sense work as a tool in building the personal professional identity of students throughout the study time and beyond.
This transition from professional growth to professional life is implicit in the following diagram (Figure 1). It illustrates how students and teachers can use eportfolio in their professional development as a learning space and create their step by step windows (see Barrett 2010). The ultimate goal is students to give ways to continue using eportfolio in their learning for life and professional life. We want to clarify, according to our experiences in development and on the basis of the discussions with teachers, which is important for students and what teacher teams need to be aware and support.
