For eight years, Egyptian officials, Ethiopia and Sudan, who are between the two countries, broke unsuccessfully on the prey. Ninety-five percent of the Egyptians live along the Nile or in its delta buttock, and the river provides almost all its water. They worry that, if the prey in Ethiopia is too fast, it could drastically reduce its water supply. In November, in a last ditch effort, the talks moved to Washington, where the White House has been mediating.

 

 

 

Mr. Trump, playing in the self-image of him as a manufacturer of dealings, has suggested that his efforts can deserve a Nobel Prize. The White House is pushing for an agreement at the end of February, but Egyptian and Ethiopian officials warn that it will not be easy.
