According to Best and Kahn (2016), a population is any group of individuals who have one or more characteristics in common that are of interest to the researcher. The population may be all the individuals of a particular type or a more restricted part of that group. In regard to this definition and for purposes of this study, a sample was selected from a population.
Mugenda and Mugenda (2003) defines sampling as the process of selecting a number of individuals for a study in such a way that the individuals selected represent the large group from which they were selected. The researcher will use probability sampling , which is stratified random samplingmethod of data collection since it is an unbiased sampling method of grouping heterogeneous populations into homogenous subsets then making a selection within the individual subset to ensure representativeness.
